Versatile Blogger Award

I was honored to receive the Versatile Blogger Award from Monroe Steele  and I am going to forward this on to whom I feel deserves it as well. Thank you so much again!!!

Below are 7 facts about me as instructed to do when presented with this award :)

7 Facts About Me:

1. I grew up playing sports: Tennis, Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, Martial Arts and I play the piano. I’ve worn several music awards for piano at various competitions while I was living in Michigan.

2. I am DEATHLY afraid of spiders, snakes, frogs and centipedes (random I know)

3. I won’t eat anything blue.. it used to be purple too but I am becoming a little more lenient on that

4. I have 3 tattoos: 1 on my lower back but not in the tramp stamp location, one on my wrist, and one on my right rib that reads “Que Dieu te Prtoege” in my Grandmother’s handwriting and I plan on getting 2 more.

5. I am a hopeless and I mean HOPELESS romantic. I really believe in love and hope that it eventually believes in me. Lol.

6. I didn’t learn English until I was 8 years old, French is my first language.

7. I was a cheerleader for 2 weeks (until my mom said “oh no to the short skirts”) and in that 2 weeks my coach pushed me down while I was attempting to do the splits and I have been able to do them ever since… I think I’m permanently torn or something lol

Fashion and TV

If you didn’t already guess, fashion feeds me! If I am in a bad mood, sad or just need a “fix” I look to fashion magazines, blogs and certain TV shows to cure my craving. The show ‘Girlfriends’ was my first TV show that I would watch primarily for aesthetic purposes. Oh how I loved Tracee Ellis Ross’-Joan character’s hairstyles, over the top accessories and pants! Many times I don’t think I even listened to the dialogue it was ALL ABOUT the clothes! Next came the Fashion show of all fashion TV shows… Sex and the City! No one in this whole entire world can tell me anything opposite of what I just wrote. I will and I mean I WILL debate this all day long with you and I will have history and facts to argue my position so do not come unprepared…. Its war and I have my weapons of mass destruction all lined up :)  (yes I am THAT passionate about that show and the fashion on that series, Shout out to Patricia Field)….

Unfortunately both of the above shows are now off the air and Gossip Girl has become my new obsession. On Mondays from 9-10pm you will find me on my couch tuned in to the CW, with a glass of wine or Woodchuck Cider in my hand and my Blackberry in the other tweeting about the show. its no surprise that Eric Daman, the costume designer for Gossip Girl was Patricia Field's assistant on SATC.....

The show has been on vacay for the last 1.5 months and I have been going through withdrawal but no fretting… its back on this upcoming Monday, April 18th! Because of this I have chosen to do my homage to the show’s fashion…..

Can anyone guess whose style I most identify with?!?!??

DC Fashion Event: Art Jamz to Benefit Becky's Fund

Here's the deal! On April 21st, some of DC's most fashionable babes will be competing to raise money for Becky's Fund, an organization that puts on a variety of programs in order to further its mission of preventing domestic violence. Bloomingdales in Chevy Chase will be donating 10% of all purchases during the event to Becky's Fund! So fab and soooo a must attend!

Janice Susan Wallace (Capital Fashionista), along with Kelly Collis (The City Shop Girl), Jennifer Barger (Washington Post), Kate Michael (K Street Kate), Holly Thomas (Washington Post), Elaine Mensah (FashionBS), Rachel Cothran (Project Beltway), and Pamela Sorensen (Pamela’s Punch) will be vying for the title "Washington's Top Artista." ArtJamz founder, Michael Clements, is putting our creativity to the test. ArtJamz will be supplying the artistic materials including a canvas, easel, paint and brushes. The challenge is to create a painting to match the season's hottest looks. At the end of the two-hour period, the audience will choose the winner. How cool is that?

So come on out and see who will be crowned "Washington's Top Artista!"I'd love to see members of La Bella Mafia-DC Fashion Bloggers there :)
