The Post Man Always Rings Twice.....

Hey all-
I am starting to really love DC summer now because the humidity is going down and the nights are just a tad cooler. I love that I can just be warm outside but not drenched in sweat after 5 minutes. With that said, I was hosting the DC Fashion Bloggers Meetup tonight but due to work issues, many members weren't able to make it. Not wanting to give up the reservation, I got some of my girls together and we just had a low key lil chick night. These are the best!!! I am a tomboy at heart but will always be a Girls Girl. I adore QT with my chicks and Poste Moderne gave us the perfect setting for outdoor seating, people watching and yummy (overpriced) but yummy snacks.......

These shoes are becoming my go to summer platform. I am going to have to buy them in far more colors.  Jessica Simpson Dany's are the way to go....

Funny story of the evening was when I received an email around 4:15 at work from the other Jen aka sister from another mister asking me what I am wearing and that she has on the dress that we both got and just making sure I am not wearing it either... ummm YEAH I was. Thank goodness I had brought an extra dress just in case I wasn't in the mood to wear the brown dress. Funny thing is we BOTH accessorized with turquoise. I had on a turquoise belt and she had the fabulous statement necklace. Have you guys ever worn the same dress to the same event as a friend??

Hey all-
Im sure you know from previous posts how much I detest the looks I get when shooting pics for the blog with my tripod and this is precisely why I have been taking indoor pics. BUT I loathe the indoor pics because I dont have my external flash yet so they come out dark. I said "F" it today and just went outside. I found this parking lot behind my building and took pics QUICKLY... I was scurrying faster than the DC rats (EEK).

I'm definitely on this color thing and lovin these Zara Pink Slim Trousers that I recently purchased. I typically cannot mess with Zara because I have "healthy" legs and they design for "skinny" legs. These have the best stretch to them... now if I could only find someone to help me with the waist because its about 3 sizes too big... Ah well.. C'est La Vie :)

 

I picked up these suspenders from a thrift store about 7 months ago but never quite knew when to wear them. I was laying on my couch trying to figure out what to wear and POOF this outfit came to mind..

The pants are far too big around the waist so I used one of my mom's old scarves from when she was my age to add a lil pizzaz and keep the pants up.. suspenders and a belt, yup the waist is that large!

I cannot get over how happy bright colors make me. But I still love my neutrals.

These shoes are RIDICULOUSLY easy to walk in believe it or not.

Fashionable Stilts aka the Dany's

Hey all-
Havent been able to take pics even though I have had some really cute outfits lately... will have to re-wear them and take pics for all of you. In the meantime, I wanted to share my newest obsessions and newest purchase with you. I know you have all seen these on numerous other fashion bloggers feet but you all know that no one is rocking them quite like I will (HAHAAH JUST KIDDING).

Just started my new job and I am extremely happy and blessed. It is 10 times better than my previous position and the location is a fashionistas dream.... I am a 9 minute walk from my fave dc consignment shop Secondi. You can find ALL high end designers as well as more mainstream stuff here and the staff is SUPER duper FRIENDLY. Definitely stop in and let me know when you are going bc I may tag along lol.

On to the shoes.... the Jessica Simpson Dany Sandals... how FAB-U-LOUS are these? Best part I am the exact same height as my bf in them. He calls them stilts, I call them fashionable ladders :)
