Cold Shoulder

Its FRIDAY!!!! Fina-frickenly! Was anyone else counting down the days this week until was the weekend? I know I was and I had a busy week.
I have decided that I do wear a lot of Forever 21 and even though there is NOTHING at all wrong with the store, I am challenging myself to go a whole week without wearing anything from there.... As I am typing this, I realized that my cuff that I wore in this outfit is from there so I guess I will start my challenge tomorrow (oops)....

But on another note... its APRIL... where is spring? I should be wearing sandals and a light jacket and not closed toe shoes and a fur shouldered sweater, COME ON MOTHER NATURE, work with us here.... pretty please anyone who doesnt recycle, pollutes and litters, please stop, you are really irking Mother Nature and in turn me! My Havaianas are begging to come out and play! HARUMPH!

Laughs, Friends, and Fashion

Ohhhhhh where do I even begin to describe the night I just had out with La Bella Mafia (my good friends-Gretchen, Ann, Bethany and I). We started the night out at Joe Theisman's in Old Town Alexandria and then hopped on the metro to downtown DC to attend Shecky's Girls Night Out at DAR Constitution Hall. We are the most eclectic group but every time and I mean EVERY SINGLE TIME we get together as a group we just laugh and laugh and laugh and we cause any and everyone in our presence to laugh as well. Didn't you hear... laughter is great for the soul! These girls mean so much to me because we are all so different but together we are as united as any friends can be. I really hope that every single one of you are as blessed as me to find friends like these.

The Shecky's GNO event was great- from the free alcohol to the great jewelry displays to the amazing music playing, if you missed out, you MISSED OUT! I spoke with many talented jewelry designers and promised to feature some of my fave pieces below.

I was also SO happy to meet one of my faithful followers and fans at the event. I was sooooo shocked that I was recognized from this blog so I guess I must be doing something right but as always.... I thank all of you!

 As far as the outfit is concerned, I have been VERY inspired by the 70s and had to pop out my wanna- be bell-bottoms and my new silk mandarin collar top... such a comfy outfit for the night...

The Family Hammer

Last night I went to check out a bluegrass band at Sova in DC with my sister from another mister and one of my roomates. I had never heard bluegrass before but I do enjoy country so it wasnt too bad at all. I love the fast stuff but the waltzes are SO NOT ME!!!! One of the fiddlers definitely dressed the part with a plaid shirt and a brown suede vest, jeans and cowboy boots... It was adorable!

I haven't gotten dressed up or even cute ALL week so since I was having an outing, I thought Id wear something J-Riffic.... I'm kind of obsessed with plaid right now and well.... I am always obsessed with leather so had to combine the two. Its been icky, rainy weather here in DC so had to throw on a hat. As one of my fellow bloggers would say its a "STEELE" (c) Monroe Steele because the hat was under 10 bucks!

Hello everyone.. I apologize for the long absence but I had no internet for 5 days and I felt like I was in the ice ages. I thank everyone who emailed and asked if I was ok, I really appreciate you all very much!!!

We had gorgeous weather over President's Weekend here in DC and I tried to stay outdoors as best as I could. My "sis" and I went to a soup party and had a great time. Yes a soup party where we were able to taste several different types of soup. My absolute faves were the Onion and Cheese, Peanut Soup and of course Corn Chowder. Here are some pics from the party as well as some personal style pics.... pssstttttt My fun printed shoes are from Nine West and I grabbed them for a whole whopping 10.00 dollars! SCORE!!! :)
