Silky Shorts....

Hey all-
Happy Friday! I felt like this was the longest week ever of life but I am so happy that its the weekend. I'm pretty geeked because some of my friends are coming to my place for game night tomorrow. I have been in crazy prep mode to make sure that my lil abode is clean and pretty. Does anyone else go into crazy mode cleaning when you know someone is coming over? I have a friend who cleans pretty much every day... her place is always visitor friendly. I wish I were that person but my bed turns into my closet because I never quite know what I want to wear. You'd think I would just put it right back on the hanger but NOPE, I sure dont.
This is just a super quick lil post to show these adorable little silk shorts I bought from H&M. Im obsessed with their shorts because they are super soft and have ample leg room for us "healthy" legged girls. I recommend checking them out if you can. Feelin Hot, Hot, Hot...

Hey all-

Does everyone remember the song "ole, ole, ole, ole, feelin hot, hot, hot" or is this only a caribbean thing? Regardless that song was playing over and over in my head this weekend when I attempted to go out to a couple rooftop parties to help my girl celebrate her bday. The 2 hottest rooftop parties on Saturdays in DC are The Prelude at the Beacon Hotel and the rooftop at Ozio's. Def worth checkin out if you are ever in the mood. Nothing I put on seemed to keep me cool enough and if I had the time I would have ran over to American Apparel and copped one of their bandeau tops. It was THAT hot and I am a sweater (yup I admit it).

This was the cutest, "coolest" outfit that I could come up with without having to go shopping.... enjoy.....

Everyone Loves a Haitian Girl......

Hey all-
So I got inspired and felt like I needed to take some pics even though I technically am "immobile" due to this knee injury. I spent Saturday running errands with my sister fro another mister and even though I complained a ton bc of the pain of using crutches over the pain of the actual knee, I was ecstatic to be out of the house and doing something other than stuffing my face while watching reality TV. (yes I have fallen into that mindless trap). I cannot STAND being dependent and not being able to just dash around like I am used to. I am learning alot during this time... I knew I was hardheaded and stubborn but not to the degree that I really am Oh goodness... I MISS HEELS!!!!

p.s. Rockin a T shirt I made on Customizedgirl about 1.5 years ago.... yes my pride is untouchable for my heritage!

Happy Tax Day everyone... did you remember to file your taxes?
Not much going on with me today, it was pretty much the usual, work, fashion, friends, fun and NICE WEATHER.
Just moved into this new place and (siiigh), I had to get over my FEAR of being embarrassed by the plethora of WEIRD and CONFUSED looks from bystanders in regards to me taking pics of myself on a tripod. With moral support from my manman (mommy in french), I was able to just do it but let me tell you something, I DID IT QUICKLY. I felt like a cockroach when the lights come on out there because I was taking pics quick so that the least amount people could see me. I am thinking now, I should be EXTRA bold and the next time I do this and get a funny look just hand the person a business card... hmmmmmmmmm light bulb just clicked!

50's housewife swag

 This blog is not supposed to let you in too much into my personal life but more so my style but I will share a teeny tiny tidbit with you.... I so long to be a "1950s housewife"! I just think the idea of taking care of your man and keeping your house a home is just so appealing to me. I love how independent I am and I enjoy working and NEVER want to be looked upon as a man's property but how I adore the idea of having dinner on the table for my hubbie when he comes home from a long day of working, handing him his night cap, all while dressed up fabulously... please remember this is a NO JUDGING ZONE so keep your "opinions" on that to yourself LOL.

Thrifting has become my new obsession thanks to one right by my job and looking at my fellow bloggers great finds. Well I had to wear one of my GREAT finds tonight to attend a play. I went to the Shakespeare Theatre Company in DC to see Oscar Wilde's An Ideal Husband.. WHAT A GREAT PERFORMANCE!!! I was a little bummed because I couldnt have my cell on and there were sooooooo many great one liners and quotes that I just had to jot down. I did my best in remembering them but of course I am going to have to google them later.
I am doing my best to explore the city more and doing things out of the ordinary and I am LOVING IT! I just may become a theatre junkie amongst my other addictions.

I have to say, I am kinda obsessed with mid calf length skirts right now and have already purchase 3 of them for the spring/summer so please be ready to see lots of this silhouette on me in the months to come... ENJOY!!!!

First many, many, MANY apologies for the lack of posting but I have been on the move and not quite MOVED yet. I have been VERY fortunate to have great people in my life that offered me shelter during my period of being "homeless". I move this weekend and so my posts will be more frequent. The great thing is that I have been able to brainstorm some amazing outfits that I cannot wait to share with everyone. I also have had some meetings on projects and cannot wait to share those as well with all of you. Again this is a super brief post of things that I love and cannot live without......

Happy Day before Hump Day!!!
First of all I want to apologize because this isnt the best post but I am in the middle of about 20 different things and just cannot get a chance to just chill. I'm moving homes, work is nut-so, and I have been getting a lot of great opps for jobs in styling SO.... no I am not complaining at all but I am probably going to be a tad M.I.A. I do promise at least 3 posts a week and once I'm back and settled I will come full force.

I do have A. MA. ZING news though... I have partnered with a local photographer to do all the styling on his shoots so PRETTY excited and please stay tuned for my "behind the scenes" posts from some of the shoots!!! Thanks again to all of you for commenting and encouraging me. I cannot say thank you enough.

Ok well... here is the outfit of the day... Bought this body con striped skirt a while ago but never quite knew how to work it. I was OH SO not in the "chic" mood to go to work so wore it with a denim jacket. I feel like a denim jacket really can pull together any outfit to give it a "je ne sais quoi" or.... MAYBE I so just made that up because that is what I chose to wear.. :)
